School Library Journal - 02/27/2026 Gr 3–7—Zombie planets, undead stars, and exploding brains are just a few of the fascinating and terrifying topics covered in this clever nonfiction guide to the universe. With sections covering each planet, many of the stand-out moons, some of the "most dangerous places in our galaxy," and a good sampling of curiosities from the space beyond, this book sticks to its theme of horror and danger while sticking to the facts. The text is informative and attention-grabbing. Illustrations include imaginative horror-style pencil-and-ink drawings, digitally refined, in strong colors, as well as many gorgeous images provided from NASA. A glossary is included at the end in the back matter to explicate terms in the narrative that appear in bold font. VERDICT This book will delight and attract children who enjoy scary stories and outer space. A great addition to any library collection.—Virginia Pine - Copyright 2026 Publishers Weekly, Library Journal and/or School Library Journal used with permission.
